Clockwatching - with Drawnalism

We often have to have a close eye on the clock when we are at work In the Moment, but this took on a whole new meaning at an event recently.

An enthusiastic disruptor of conferences managed to sneak six alarm clocks into the auditorium at the National Bank of Belgium and wired them to go off in relay as if a bomb was about to go off.

Naturally, the conference and its 300 attendees had to move location - and we had to go with it. There's a short report of all the excitement at The Bulletin although I can exclusively reveal no one panicked at all and that this was a good thing.

We all marched a short distance up the road - it was a beautiful day, happily - and we all got on with the things we were discussing from the original venue. Which is just as it should be.

The event organisation team were absolutely amazing in the very challenging circumstances and made a small miracle of an event out of something that could have been a very serious situation.

For ourselves, we had to change from recording the event on paper to In the Moment on a digital device rather quickly - because all of our kit was locked into the Bank while the Security service locked down the building and checked and searched for any further devices.

We managed.
