What is In the Moment?
In the Moment is Drawnalism’s live and in-person graphic recording service. It is the first activity that we developed when we started a decade ago, the one that clients and agencies know us for best.
Drawnalists attend conferences, meetings and other events and draw them live to create a paper and digital or pure digital record. We can do big wall capture, but our preferred way of working is to use our own method of drawing on large sheets of sticky paper to graphically record speeches, presentations, questions and debate.
Over the course of a day, one Drawnalist will typically generate at least ten sticky sheets, which can be displayed on boards and walls, themed into galleries, and laid out as timelines. Drawnalism can also deliver In the Moment digitally, using infinite canvas or sequential screens. And we can work alongside livebloggers to incorporate our work into their posts.
Why book In the Moment?
Booking In the Moment represents an investment in an event or project that its leaders and participants will appreciate. We are told often that speakers enjoy the focus given to their presentations by our graphic capture of their messages and keypoints.
And we know from feedback that event and project participants give special attention to the In the Moment record of sessions in which they have been involved, and to which they may have contributed questions or information points that have been included.
Over the course of an event or project, In the Moment Drawnalism also builds into a coherent and memorable graphic record. Participants can use this to synthesise themes, pull out key points, and share learning with their teams and networks, using photographs, social video and social media – all without being distracted by the need to take notes.
Elements of paper or digital Drawnalism can also be extracted to provide event recaps, support presentations, encourage social media participation, and create engaging follow-up communications. We have seen Drawnalism framed and on view in corporate headquarters, headlining reports, worn on t-shirts, and printed on umbrellas!
Who books In the Moment?
We hope you do! Drawnalism is booked by senior executives, project managers and event organisers. We also work with agencies looking to extend their content offers and to enhance their engagement with clients.
In either case, we work with our commissioners and their teams to make sure they have the right In the Moment services on the day. We also use our experience and expertise to advise on packages of before, during and after work.
These bring in our At the Studio services before an event, to support branding, communications and audience anticipation. They also make our Drawnalists available after an event to ensure the valuable collateral it has generated is used effectively; for example as Animated Drawnalism for social or corporate video.
