WHO’s Better, WHO’s Best?

A few years ago Drawnalism covered an event for the World Health Organization on the subject of Universal Health Coverage.

Here's a video created after the event by the UHC Partnership, which also features our work.

On the back of that project, the WHO used one piece of artwork from the event - a global umbrella sheltering many people - to symbolise Universal Health Coverage as the logo for their UHC campaign. Later in the year, we worked with them again to develop this into a design for a small folding umbrella to give away at future events.

Fast forward to 2019: The Sixth Annual WHO UHC event was held in Geneva over two days, and Drawnalism once again drew for this event - and the logo I had drawn two years earlier was everywhere! On large standees, on pin-buttons, and on the screen.

Here’s a few pictures from the event:

At the event, I was also informed that they were creating a new umbrella, using the same design but this time for a larger, golf-sized umbrella!

More recently, the WHO returned to us to refresh the logo - mainly to make the original design a little more inclusive and in keeping with the design used for the umbrellas. This is the result:

You can now see it below, and in their Twitter account!
